What is StrongFirst®?

StrongFirst® is the School of Strength founded by Pavel Tsatsouline.

StrongFirst® is a global provider of Strength Education in Kettlebell, Barbell, Bodyweight and much more.

I am a proud Certified StrongFirst® Kettlebell Instructor (SFG1). I am a student & teacher of strength. I practice & teach the standards and principles of the Russian Hard Style Kettlebell Method taught by the StrongFirst® Masters.

We are held to a higher standard - consistently regarded as the highest in the industry.

The Hardstyle method is based on specific Russian combat and martial arts principles that are applied to strength training. The approach is a very specific skills practice. The principles are based on tension and relaxation techniques. In Hardstyle, you learn breathwork, tension, relaxation skills and how to recruit them when each is required in your training.

To Earn your "Rite of Passage" and Achieve the SFG1 Instructor Certification One Must:

  • Attend a 3-Day Event that Demands Serious Preparation by Trained Athletes & Endure Rigorous Testing. A 30% Failure Rate is Common Among Even Well Prepared Candidates. Therefore, this Certification should not be Taken Lightly!

What is The Functional Movement Screen (FMS™)?

Functional Movement Systems (FMS) was founded and created by Gray Cook (MSPT, OCS, CSCS) and Lee Burton (PhD, MBA) in the mid-90’s. Functional Movement Systems is the creator of movement screenings that are used by Fitness, Healthcare and Performance Professionals.

How does The FMS help me with your programming?

The Functional Movement System (The FMS) is a world standard in movement screens.  It is the screening tool used to identify limitations or asymmetries. The FMS is a tool utilized for standardized movement screening of healthy active individuals, no matter their age, to see how they are moving in everyday life. It measures seven fundamental movement patterns and three clearing tests that are key to functional movement quality. It takes into account both mobility and stability and equips me with information to make precise and purposeful programming decisions.

As a Healthcare professional, I utilize the FMS as a standard operating procedure (SOP) for observing a clients' movement quality. Getting someone out of pain is NO LONGER ENOUGH. must look at ones movement to ensure success in my clients’ start or return to training, sport and/or just simple everyday life.

The FMS screening tools help take the guesswork out by using objective and validated standards. By using the FMS scoring results, I gain valuable information, a movement baseline and a foundation to create a purposeful, individualized corrective strategy and programming approach. That approach will yield improvements in your health, fitness, sports performance, and/or return from injury. The FMS is also used as an ongoing feedback tool that makes the entire training process, both short-term and long-term, effective and efficient.

Certified FMS practitioners are a global community helping people first move well and then move often.
